A Snapshot of our Week…
Reception: As part of our work around ‘The Extraordinary Gardener’, we had the visit of a real landscape designer! Ada’s dad came to talk to the children about an extraordinary park he designed in Manchester, and how, much as the character in our story, he transformed a dull, grey space into a wonderful garden with an amazing playground. The children were really inspired by this and have been using their imagining tool to design and describe their own extraordinary gardens.
Year 1: We went on a school trip to the Ragged School Museum and travelled back in time for a lesson. The children had the chance to be a Victorian child for the day with their own Victorian names. We learned lots of facts about life in Victorian times but were very happy to be back in 2024 at the end of the day! What an adventure!
Year 2: We finished our amazing book – Toys in Space. We loved the ending and have used our imagining and perseverance tools to write our own versions of the story- we are so proud of them!
Year 3: We have used our collaboration tool to make salt dough fossils in groups. It was a slightly messy afternoon but we had great fun! We also used our reasoning tool to decide whether we were going to measure the classroom in metres or millimetres.
To all the children signed up for Bikeability cycling sessions – remember your bikes and helmets next week. Cycling sessions will take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!
Year 4: We have been using our imagining and reasoning tools to solve the mystery of the curse of Tutankhamun’s tomb. We took part in a conscience alley, persuading the rest of the class whether they should believe in the curse or not, if they should take the risk and enter the tomb or not! It was great fun! Ask you child what they decided and why!

Year 5: We performed our amazing Samba shows on Wednesday, the culmination of 10 weeks of perseverance and collaboration to learn new skills and rhythms!
Year 6: We have enjoyed being newspaper reporters, using our planning tool to write an article about the Pok-A-Tok match in The Rain Player. We have also learnt about how the Maya developed a writing system and we used our imagining tool to use the hieroglyphs to write sentences of our own.
Share and Care

Alma: Thank you, Maysa (3A) for your lovely and informative contribution about Ramadan that you shared in assembly. We can all take a closer look at it. To those of you who are Muslims, Ramadan Mubarak!

Monday Assembly: Thank you to Yaseen and his Mum for sharing what their family do during Ramadan at our assembly this week! We learnt a lot!
PE Update

Well done to the Y6 netball team who travelled to Redbridge to represent Southwark at the London Youth Games. They played Lambeth, Croydon, Lewisham and Bromley and out of 60 schools they came 13th! A massive thanks to Edina Powell our fantastic netball coach (playleader and midday meals supervisor) for getting the team to such a high standard.
