Our Learning Journey – Together Again

We now have the whole school together. A warm welcome to our Reception children and their parents/carers! 

Well done to all the children for their fantastic learning this week, there has been a buzz around school listening to the different activities that children are participating in from alien landings to Pop Art Icons. 

We had our first Zoom Celebration Assembly for Y1 – Y6 today! We were lucky with the weather last week and were able to meet in a socially distanced way on the playground. 

This week we have had a focus on our collaborative skills, especially in the playground! Some year groups have developed their team building skills by playing parachute games, and other team games!

Reminder: Drop off and Pick Up

We are currently working with our local councillors Andy Simmons and Catherine Rose and Dulwich Safe Routes to School to ensure that children can safely access all the school gates.  If you drive to school, please park your car off the estate and walk your child to their designated gate. The areas around school are very congested; we encourage children to walk, cycle or scoot to school so everyone needs to be safe.

 

Tapestry

Have you seen the special message from your child’s Class Teacher??? 

If you are not signed up to Tapestry please contact the Senior Leader responsible for your child’s year group. 

If your class is asked by Public Health to isolate then you will be able to access the learning each day on Tapestry. 

Please make sure that you are signed up so your child doesn’t miss any learning.

 

Meet the Teacher Sessions via Zoom

We would like to invite parents/carers to a special Zoom @Meet the Teacher Session. 

This session will inform you about this term’s learning and the home learning expectations

Questions: please submit any advance questions by emailing the Senior Leader responsible for your child’s year group.

Year 3 – Wednesday 7^th October @ 6pm

School Council

The School Council were recently voted in by all the children from Y1 – Y6. The speeches prepared by all the children that took part were outstanding! We couldn’t be more impressed with our Year 6 children this year. 

Isabella Nilsson (the Hawk’s House Captain) has written on behalf of the school council:

As the newly formed School Council, we know that there will be some changes throughout the year but we are all ready and willing to adapt our ideas/events so we can all have an amazing year to celebrate!

We want to ensure that the level of respect and equality will continue to be maintained at Dulwich Wood Primary School, by all of us working together collaboratively and showing empathy to everyone.

Flu Immunisation

Children from Reception to Y6 will have their flu immunisation on Tuesday 24^th November. You will receive a letter in advance, and your child will only be immunised if you give your consent.
