Reception:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started the week with an intriguing discovery: some mysterious footprints, a clump of fur and a curious-looking sack! Inside, among other treasures, we found a copy of \u2018Where the Wild Things Are\u2019. The story has inspired us to transform our role-play area into a magical woodland, where the children have been busy using their imagining <\/strong>tool to become Wild Things themselves and making their own crowns so they can become kings or queens of all the Wild Things, just like Max!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In science we have been exploring the human body. We used our collaboration <\/strong>to identify and label different body parts. We then made links<\/strong> between the body parts of Beegu, the friendly alien!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 2<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s been a fun and busy week in Y2! We have been learning about more than, less than and equal to, using our crocodile friend to help us remember that it always eats the greater number. The children used their imagining<\/strong> and collaboration<\/strong> tools to invent their own game where the crocodile ate the older child! In PSHE, we talked about bullying and how it can make people feel, linking this to the Zones of Regulation. In Literacy, we created posters about staying healthy – using commands, contractions and conjunctions along the way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 3<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y3 have had a very busy and fun week. In science we have used our collaboration<\/strong> and reasoning<\/strong> tools to create a model of the human body and understand how bones provide support and protection. We have finished our first text of the year – ‘Sparky’ – by using our planning<\/strong> tool to write really creative and imaginative versions. In PSHE we used our empathy <\/strong>tool to consider how we would resolve a variety of problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 4 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y4 had a fascinating trip to the ISKCON South London Hindu temple, learning about what Hindus believe and how they pray and worship. We used our making links<\/strong> tool to compare what ‘God’ means to different religious groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 5<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y5 have been applying their planning<\/strong> and collaboration<\/strong> tools this week! In Science, we investigated air resistance by making parachutes and launching them from the staircases. We explored how surface area affects the time it takes for a parachute to fall. In Literacy, we used our imagining<\/strong> tool to become reporters and write newspaper articles about Nelson Mandela\u2019s release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 6<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y6 had a fantastic time using their imagining <\/strong>tool during our author visit with Katherine Rundell! They created their own exciting \u2018What ifs?\u2019 and enjoyed discovering more about mythical creatures. They also put their collaboration<\/strong> and making links<\/strong> tools to great use on our Junior Citizenship Trip, learning how to tackle challenges they may face as they grow in confidence and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
