We have made fantastic use of our <strong>making links <\/strong>tool, beginning by exploring what plants need to grow before moving on to hands-on investigations into how we can grow healthy and strong ourselves. We have also continued to show <strong>perseverance <\/strong>in phonics as we become increasingly confident at reading and writing longer words with adjacent consonants, and in maths as we explored teen numbers and developed our addition and subtraction skills. We are all very proud of how much we have achieved this half term and are now ready for a well-deserved break before an exciting final term ahead!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\"><strong>Year 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\">We are so impressed with the amazing progress that the Y1 children have made this term. They have used their <strong>perseverance<\/strong> and <strong>imagining<\/strong>&nbsp;tools to write letters of apology in the character of &#8216;Cave Baby&#8217;.  It is so fantastic how independent they are all becoming at writing. &nbsp;We finished this term with a well-deserved trip to Crystal Palace Park. Thanks again for our lovely volunteer parents for their time and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#d3a21d\"><strong>Year 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#d3a21d\">Y2 have worked so hard this half term investigating living things and their habitats in science, using their <strong>reasoning<\/strong> and <strong>perseverance<\/strong> tools in maths to understand different units of measurement and using their <strong>imagining<\/strong> tool to write incredible fact files in literacy. They have been using their <strong>empathy goggles<\/strong> every day to be kind and practise their emotional regulation. Well done Y2!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#6fb1e2\"><strong>Year 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-10 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#6fb1e2\">Y3 have really used their <strong>imagining<\/strong> tools this term, to go back in time and try to understand what life would have been like for Mary Anning &#8211; the legendary fossil hunter. We have really enjoyed learning all about her and her incredible discoveries, and we ended the term with fantastic stories about the day that changed her life forever&#8230; We have also used our <strong>planning<\/strong> tools to start to get ready for our play &#8216;The Sweet Life&#8217;. We will be working really hard on it next term and hope you can all come to watch!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-11 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\"><strong>Year 4 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-12 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\">Y4 have had an awesome half-term, especially using our <strong>reasoning <\/strong>tool across many practical Science lessons to explore the properties of materials, and <strong>asking questions<\/strong> as we undertook an in-depth study of Ancient Egypt. For our next literacy book, we have already introduced the children to the unfathomably long period of time before there were any humans or even life on planet Earth at all, using our <strong>imagining<\/strong> tool to ask huge questions about the world and how it came to be. We can\u2019t wait to start reading &#8216;The Ever-Changing Earth!&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-13 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#2d53ab\"><strong>Year 5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-14 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#2d53ab\">This half term, Y5 have enjoyed using our <strong>empathy<\/strong>, <strong>imagining<\/strong> and<strong> planning<\/strong> tools in literacy to explore &#8216;The Island&#8217; and &#8216;The Lost Thing&#8217;, developing thoughtful ideas about belonging and perspective. In science and history, we have applied our <strong>making links<\/strong>, <strong>reasoning <\/strong>and <strong>asking questions<\/strong> tools through a range of practical learning experiences such as flower dissection, exploring Norse mythology and the nine realms, and pond dipping, showing curiosity and enthusiasm throughout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-15 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\"><strong>Year 6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-16 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\">Y6<strong> <\/strong>have had a fantastic half term, showing outstanding resilience and commitment in all areas of their learning. They have consistently used their<strong> perseverance<\/strong>, <strong>making links<\/strong> and <strong>managing distractions<\/strong> tools to deepen their understanding and take pride in their work. This triathlon was hosted in the famous Crystal Palace Park. There were groups of ages starting with Tristar (50m swim, 1km ride &amp; 400m run) the Tristar1 (150m swim, 4km ride &amp; 1.2km run) and Tristar 2 (150m swim, 6km ride &amp; 1.8km run).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-19 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#659c38\">In between the events we did transitions, there are rules that say you can&#8217;t touch your bike until you have the right gear on. This tough event helps people to stay fit and healthy and after you pass the finish line you get a medal, then you can say you are a triathlete! It was incredible to see how proudly every child shared their culture with us as we paraded around in the morning.
