After everyone had a turn planting seeds, we used our <strong>planning<\/strong> and <strong>imagining <\/strong>tools to design our very own dream gardens. We then wrote some wonderful sentences to describe what makes each of them so extraordinary!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-37ab5e85f79165dd24cc418c155b86c4 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\"><strong>Year 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-af583635180503127423818ec928a69d wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\">This week we had a cheeky little friend join us in Y1. &#8216;The Naughty Bus&#8217; came whizzing in creating lots of mess. We used our <strong>collaboration and planning tools<\/strong>\u00a0and wrote a letter to &#8216;The Naughty Bus&#8217;, giving him some advice about how he could use his <strong>empathy goggles<\/strong> and look after our school. We think it\u2019s worked as thankfully he\u2019s not created any more mess, phew! We also used our <strong>reasoning tool<\/strong>\u00a0to think of what could be included in a healthy packed lunch, during our PSHE session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e83a4a307a82a8c7bf3339bcc52047a7 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#d3a21d\"><strong>Year 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9f977ce8464d9edf9f65f8ec894bedf1 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#d3a21d\">Y2 have been continuing to use their <strong>managing distractions<\/strong> and <strong>making links<\/strong> tools in their multiplication and division topic this week, <strong>persevering <\/strong>to master the 2 and 5 times tables. They have also been researching two London landmarks in Literacy and recording lots of interesting facts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1766f601aa86b68b346b0b1bbac4e28a wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#6fb1e2\"><strong>Year 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9ff11a5edb9baf0e2253843259e93790 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#6fb1e2\">Y3 have been using their <strong>imagining<\/strong> tool to understand what life would be like in the Stone Age, and then had a debate about whether we would like to live in the Stone Age or not &#8211; the answer was a pretty resounding no! In reading, we used our <strong>perseverance<\/strong> tool, trying to work out what the BFG is trying to say (he often gets his words mixed up) and then we had fun coming up with our own BFG words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3a47d1534112be5ca43f3a6c647039d8 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\"><strong>Year 4 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3be03828557f519dd24dc121dcc705ba wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\">Y4 have done some amazing learning this week, discovering and sharing so much about the ancient Egyptians across history, literacy and guided reading lessons! In particular, we used our <strong>asking questions<\/strong>, <strong>reasoning<\/strong> and <strong>collaboration<\/strong> tools to debate and discover how Tutankhamun may have died and how the mummification process worked. The children have shown amazing enthusiasm for the new topic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-19046f4847c61dd3cf07ef7b4c8a584d wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#2d53ab\"><strong>Year 5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e68a312fefb632108ec9972bb769d447 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#2d53ab\">Y5 have been using their <strong>planning<\/strong> and <strong>reasoning <\/strong>tools in science this week to carefully dissect a flower, identify its different parts and explain their roles in plant reproduction. In literacy, we used our <strong>imagining<\/strong> tool and<strong> empathy goggles<\/strong> to step into the roles of different characters and write thoughtful quotes for a newspaper report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-807e1a4d9fbc33c87d1cb1bc26ca53c1 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\"><strong>Year 6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-cbe51123d7d741af2c35319afb439721 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#008f00\">This week, Y6 have continued our learning about the &#8216;Suffragettes&#8217;, focusing on Emmeline Pankhurst and the strikes of the Match Girls. Through this work, we have used our <strong>empathy goggles<\/strong> and <strong>imagining<\/strong> tool to better understand the struggles and determination of those who fought for change. In history, we have also been learning more about the changing role of women over time and the impact this has had on society today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4cc91fdf2235e81b9e2853272f03f130 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#2d53ab\"><strong>Dulwich Wood Nursery School Ofsted Inspection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-021e80e59a64e3df37c36d5a9b66a0d5 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#2d53ab\">The Nursery School was recently inspected by Ofsted and we are delighted to share our report with you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-11c4565d9a213e42dc18c7c6958dc9b0 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#2d53ab\">We are incredibly proud of our whole team and pleased that we were able to showcase our wonderful setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3c11ac6b25be77627688a7a03fdd3f80 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#2d53ab\">Ofsted has recently introduced a new inspection framework, and we were among the first maintained nursery schools to be inspected under these changes. The report no longer includes a single overall grade; instead, it provides a detailed \u201creport card\u201d designed to give parents a clearer picture of how the school performs across key areas. We are very grateful for your feedback, which is extremely important in helping us to continue improving our school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2154348947eca82d5e55153f5e37b09b wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#659c38\">We were very pleased to see that the survey highlighted a number of strengths. In particular, parents told us that children are happy at school, feel safe, and are well supported in their learning. Parents also responded positively about behaviour in the school and many said they would recommend the school to other families.
