Eighty-four students and ten adults boarded the Euston\u2013Glasgow train on Sunday morning, ready for yet another week of wonder and awe at the Loch Eil Outward Bound Centre. Despite the unusually mild forecast hinting at heavy rain and high winds, the approaching Storm Bram passed through with minimal impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the seven Clans began their week with a Loch Dip, while the bravest chose to leap from the pier and follow the guide rope back to shore. Throughout the week, each Clan took turns experiencing the wide range of adventure activities on offer. Whether canoeing along the Caledonian Canal, abseiling in Glen Nevis, taking a night walk to the Harry Potter Bridge, or hiking to idyllic beaches, every group embraced their challenges with enthusiasm and determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students were continually in awe of the spectacular landscapes surrounding the Lochs and Glens. From the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct to Jacob\u2019s Ladder and the towering presence of Ben Nevis, the scenery inspired genuine wonder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many agreed that time spent far from screens and devices allowed their minds to fully absorb the natural beauty around them. One child commented that they felt smarter not having access to their phone, as they had to think for themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We look forward to sharing more about our adventures with parents\/carers at a special Scotland Assembly on Friday 9th January at 9:15am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re supporting Smartphone Free Childhood so families can delay smartphones together and keep primary school childhood\u2026 childlike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the break, connect with other parents in your class to agree a no-smartphones-in-primary pact for January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
