We explored the stories ‘Once There Were Giants’, ‘The Growing Story’ and ‘The House That Once Was’, which inspired some fantastic conversations. We have been making great use of our making links tool, talking about what stays the same and what changes as time goes by. Our biggest highlight of the week was playing ‘Guess the Baby’; we had so much fun looking at baby photos of many of our Reception children!

Year 1 have had a great first week back! It has been lovely to hear all about the children’s holiday adventures and they have really enjoyed sharing these with the class. We have started exploring our new book in Literacy – Iggy Peck Architect and have used our imagining tool to think about how Iggy is feeling at different points in the story. The children were great at using the personal pronoun ‘I’ to write in the first person as if they were Iggy. They came up with some fantastic synonyms for the word ‘sad’.
