Admissions to the Nursery
Before applying we would love to meet you and give you a tour so you can see our facilities and meet our staff. Please call our office at 020 7525 1192 or email office@dulwichwood.com to arrange a visit.
Applications are accepted throughout the year for termly intakes in September, January, and April.

Before applying, you might want to consider these steps:
Step 1
Determine your child’s eligibility
- Two-year-olds: Some children may be eligible for 15 free hours per week from the term after they turn two. Check eligibility criteria on the government website or contact our office.
- Three and four-year-olds: All children are entitled to 15 free hours per week during term time, regardless of parent employment status. This begins the term after the child’s third birthday. So if your child turns 3 in November 2024, they would be able to start nursery in January 2025.
- If you are a working parent, you may qualify for 30 free hours per week if:
- You are a two-parent working family or a lone working parent
- Each parent earns a minimum equivalent to 16 hours at national minimum/living wage, but less than £100,000 per year
Step 2
Decide on your preferred sessions
- Morning session: 8:35 am – 11:35 am
- Afternoon session: 12:35 pm – 3:35 pm
- Full days (for children over 3): 8:35 am – 3:35 pm
Step 3
Determine additional sessions needed
15 free hours covers 2.5 days and 30 free hours cover five full nursery days.
Additional sessions beyond your free entitlement are charged at £9 per hour Increases in sessions are subject to availability in your child’s key group.
Step 4
Consider extended hours (optional)
- Breakfast club: 7:30 am – 8:35 am (£5-£6.50 per day)
- After-school club: 3:35 pm – 6:00 pm (£10-£15 per day)
- These clubs are held at Dulwich Wood Primary School
